Traffic Incident Management (TIM)
Welcome to the Nevada Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Program, a statewide initiative dedicated to improving the safety and efficiency of Nevada’s roadways by equipping first responders, transportation agencies, towing professionals, and others, with the tools and training needed to manage traffic incidents effectively and safely. This is maintaining a focus on the safety of Nevada’s First Responders as well as the motorists.
Every minute a roadway incident remains unresolved increases the risk of secondary crashes by 2.8% and puts responders and the traveling public at risk. We aim to reduce incident clearance times, enhance responder safety, and minimize traffic delays, ensuring Nevada’s roads remain as safe and efficient as possible.
What We Do
Provide TIM Training
Offering specialized training for law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, towing and recovery operators, and transportation personnel to enhance coordinated response efforts.
Promote Interagency Collaboration
Bringing together key stakeholders to improve incident response strategies across disciplines.
Develop TIM Teams
Supporting local and regional TIM teams to implement best practices and strengthen community response capabilities for the 7 coalitions in Nevada.
Enhance Public Awareness
Working with key stakeholders to help educate motorists on Nevada traffic laws, safe driving behaviors near incident scenes, and the importance of reducing distractions in work zones. Responder safety is still the main focus for all activity while on a crash scene.

TIM Training provides first responders and roadway workers with proven strategies for safely and efficiently handling traffic incidents through the SHRP2 TIM Training. Visit our Training to learn more and register for an upcoming session. These training sessions are for First Responders, Volunteer First Responders, all other participating companies, and others as identified.
